Nice piece, Linda.

I did the same Skyway loop as you, but in the other direction. I took the train from Durango to Silverton and back, then drove north over the mountains, through Ouray to Telluride. I slept poorly that night, perhaps due to a lingering touch of altitude sickness contracted while going over the high pass between Silverton and Ouray. My last stop was Mesa Verde National Park.

This is definitely a very scenic route to take. Our California Sierra Nevada range look rather diminutive compared to Colorado’s San Juans.

Thank you for sharing your remarks and the website. Your remarks about finding anything positive from a negative event
were comforting. You don’t deny the negative impact but you also give us another view… about choices for the rest of our lives. That view suggests a way to honor the memory of those gone… live your life fully now and care for others. A view that pulls us all together.
Being able to see the memorial was wonderful since I can’t make the opening. Again, another way to pull us together by
sharing a space that many won’t see on 9-11. Your site made this so easy. Thanks for catching my eye and my heart.

I wish the U.S. had public transportation as extensive as London (and other European cities). Jumping on the Tube, zipping here and there is easy, inexpensive and fun to watch the people. Thanks so much for your comment.
